About Made With Love:
We believe that watching an artist forge and consummate the object of his or her imagination can be as beautiful and moving as the piece itself. So, in June 2009, we organized what would be the first in a series of unique events in which artists were featured together with their chosen art form during the actual process of creation. We have continued exploring this concept with various forms of artistic expression, including painting, sculpture, juggling, fire-breathing and fashion design, to name just a few. The different artists that we showcase are at the peak of their craft; they exhibit passion, pursue excellence, crave extravagance, and thrive on community. They live only to express and share both their art and themselves with others.

Passion, excellence, extravagance, community. This is what Made With Love is all about.

We presented our first cocktail creation and mixology event in Montreal in December 2009, and have since organized a total of 11 events in this and other major Canadian cities, including Toronto, Vancouver, Halifax and Quebec City.

Where did the idea for Made With Love come from?
There are countless stirring moments and objects that are experienced only by a select group of people; mixology and cocktail culture is one of them. The mission of Made With Love is to democratize this culture across Canada and introduce it to as many people as possible. We enjoy working with people who are passionate about what they do, and we find it highly rewarding to spotlight the talents of mixologists, who are also artists, in front of an attentive audience.

When did you begin organizing mixology competitions?

We hosted our first event in December 2009 at the St. Paul Hotel in Montreal. We’ve since organized ten more in five other Canadian cities, attracting over 3,000 people. More than 100 original cocktails have been presented at these events by 75 mixologists from across Canada.

What does the future hold for Made With Love?

Our goal is to continue promoting creative mixology to as many audiences as possible. In 2012-2013, we are booked to tour the country and hold competitions in six major cities: Montreal, Toronto, Quebec City, Calgary, Vancouver and Halifax. At the moment, we are working on the Canadawide finale featuring the winners of previous competitions. We also intend to grow our website by adding webinars that will fuel the interests of foodies and cocktail lovers alike. In the long term, we plan to add food creation competitions to our events and begin organizing competitions abroad.
