AN INVITATION TO THE MADE WITH LOVE CALGARY QUALIFIER EVENT, TO BE HELD AT HOTEL ARTS ON WEDNESDAY MAY 21th, AT 6:00 PM IN PREPARATION FOR THE MADE WITH LOVE MAIN EVENT THIS JULY 2014.
«COCKTAIL PAIRING & SPEED ROUND» EVENT
In preparation for the MadeWithLove main event, we will be holding a “Cocktail Pairing & Speed Round” pre-selection event to determine our finalists. We invite you to come and show your skill and knowledge in a dynamic event that tests your creativity and palate, as well as your speed and performance under pressure.
Competitors will compete in heats. Each heat will be given a canapé to taste and use as the inspiration for creating a cocktail that is a perfect pair to their canapé.
Competitors will have 7 minutes to prepare their cocktails to impress the judges. From the group of 30 qualifiers 16 will be chosen to advance to the MadeWithLove main event in July 2014. Competitors will be judged on creativity, taste, presentation, speed and technique of their cocktails, and of course, the compatibility of their cocktail pairing.

Winner of the Judges’ Choice
The mixologists will be judged on the originality, the presentation and the taste of their cocktail. The mixologist who receives the most points will win a place in the MadeWithLove Grand Premiere Canadian Finale and will have a chance to win a trip to visit a distillery from one of our 2014 Partners!
Winner of the Public’s Choice
All the guests attending the event will be given MWL dogtags. After tasting all the cocktails, they will give their dogtag to their favourite mixologist. The mixologist with the most dogtags will win a place in the MadeWithLove Grand Premiere Canadian Finale and will have a chance to win a trip to visit a distillery from one of our 2014 Partners!
