Where are you from?
Where do you currently work?
I am a Sommelier and sales person with Bishop’s Cellar – specialty wine, beer and spirits merchant in Halifax.
How long have you been in the industry?
If you could work with any other Bartender in the world for one night who would it be?
While I don’t tend bar now, I am an avid patron! I love the level of the bar scene in Halifax these days and would be happy to spend a night working with any one of them.
If you could visit any restaurant/bar in the world where would it be?
The London bar scene is really quite fascinating, and there are too many cool spots to pick just one. Every time I travel there I try new places. It seems there is endless money in a city that size, to come up with an amazing space in which to drink. Pubs have their charm, but an upscale cocktail bar in London is a treat.
Who is your mentor, if you have one?
I have met quite a few great people in my career in the restaurant/bar/wine business, but no mentor, per se.
Why do you feel MADE WITH LOVE, as a cocktail competition, is important for the Industry in Halifax?
I love events that bring people together to innovate in their profession. While they are all pros’ in their own respect, they will also learn from their competitors.

Enjoying yourself while executing well under pressure is a great skill or at least looking like you’re enjoying yourself
What is the most impressive thing you have ever seen a bartender do?
I am fascinated by bartenders working in high volume environments. Whether it’s a cruise ship pool bar or a hot night club, seeing them put out drink after drink is an amazing thing.
What’s the most frequent error competitors do in a competition?
I’m sure everyone tends to overthink things and forget about enjoying what they’re doing at the moment.

Choosing just one winner.
What is the most precious advice you could give to a competitor?
Be confident and trust yourself…
